Fintan Slye

Director, National Grid Electricity System Operator (ESO)

 

Fintan oversees ESO’s work to make significant changes to how National Grid runs Britain’s electricity network, with particular focus on the decarbonisation of the nation’s electricity use to ensure a more sustainable future. In addition to heading up ESO, Fintan also chairs the ESO Board.

Prior to this he was CEO of the EirGrid Group, where he oversaw a major change programme that included integrating renewables onto the Irish electricity grid.

Fintan is a board member of ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity, and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Ireland. He holds a Masters in Engineering Science and an MBA from University College Dublin.
