Community Fund
Communities are at the heart of the UK’s transition to more secure, cleaner, home-grown energy from more affordable sources.
Birkhill Wood Substation qualifies for a community fund under new Government guidance.
Once construction begins, £530,000 will be available to invest in projects that benefit local people and communities. Over the coming months, we'll share more information about how the fund will work.
We want to make sure this funding reflects local priorities and delivers lasting benefits for the area. We'll be inviting local residents, community groups and other organisations to help shape its priorities.
Other National Grid projects in the area may also qualify for community funds. Each fund will be managed independently, with details available on their project webpage.
