Wanlass Beck 400 kV Substation 

(Formerly referred to as Creyke Beck 400 kV Extension)

 

Project Description 

We need to extend the existing Creyke Beck Substation to the southwest to connect new sources of home-grown electricity. Previously we referred to this as Creyke Beck Substation extension. It is now called Wanlass Beck Substation.

Our planning application was granted permission from East Riding Council on December 2025 (reference 24/03819/STPLF).

Figure 1 below provides an illustration of the proposed layout and design. 

To reconfigure the overhead line between Creyke Beck and the new Wanlass Beck substation, we will install an additional pylon beside Wanlass Beck. The pylon will be about 55 m tall. Once it is in service, we can remove one existing, similar height pylon near Creyke Beck substation.
