Hundreds of National Grid employees and additional contracted resources are working amid challenging conditions as they remove downed wires, trees, tree limbs, broken poles and other hazards, while focusing on public safety and service restoration after an early season storm brought heavy, wet snow to areas of northeastern New York last night.

The Nassau County Stand Down was a huge success again this year. The Nassau County Annual Veterans Winter Stand Down was hosted by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency, the event welcomed over 500 hundred Veterans who were in line at the Freeport Armory in Freeport to participate and receive services and general needs items.

The John Theissen Toy Drive kicked off National Grid’s Season of Giving Campaign which is part of Project C the Companies commitment to communities. National Grid’s Season of Giving involves employees volunteering, distributing food and providing donations to local community organizations.
