National Grid Ventures (NGV) and Con Edison Transmission this week submitted a proposal to build transmission infrastructure that will carry offshore wind power to New Jersey’s electric grid.

National Grid’s expanded field force has worked around the clock to restore service to 158,000 of the nearly 205,000 customers affected by the destructive ice and snow storm that struck eastern New York this weekend.

National Grid’s eastern New York field force of more than 2,600 line, tree, and public safety specialists are assessing damage, cleaning up extensive debris and restoring power to customers after an early spring storm brought significant icing, and heavy, wet snow to the region over the last 24 hours.

March is coming to a close with a late winter storm and National Grid is responding by increasing staffing and extending evening and overnight work shifts.
