As part of her studies in Sustainability at Harvard University, Lead Energy Engineer Kathleen Warsing created a Climate Action Plan for the town of Walpole, Massachusetts. Her project focused on the town’s transportation and recommended technologies and strategies the town could pursue. After gathering information from town officials and the citizens advocacy group, Walpole Green, Kathleen presented a road map of recommended initiatives to guide the town on how to adapt to climate change and minimise its carbon footprint, while improving social equity and transportation access. Part of her plan was incorporated into the town’s Green Community application to the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources and, in April 2021, the town was designated as one of nine new Green Communities.
