Talsarnau Community Hall taps into funding to streamline water consumption

As part of National Grid’s Community Grant Programme, Talsarnau Community Hall has been awarded just over £8,000 for a project to help reduce water consumption.

This funding will be used to purchase and install new wash basins, water saving taps and toilets which will help the community hall to reduce how much water is wasted and promote the sustainability of this important community asset. Some of the grant funding will also be used towards the remediation of bathroom walls and the installation of an anti-slip floor.

The hall is an integral part of the community in Talsarnau and provides a multitude of opportunities for residents to socialise and take part in a range of activities and committees. Improving the venue’s amenities ensures that more local people can take advantage of the facilities available.

Commenting on the impact the funding will have on the Talsarnau community, Carwyn Richards, treasurer at Talsarnau Village Hall said:

“This funding from National Grid will help make our water usage at the community hall much more efficient and sustainable. The improved facilities will also, hopefully, encourage even more people to use the space. As a committee, we would like to express our thanks to National Grid for helping us to improve this asset, which is a vital part of our community.”

Steve Ellison, Senior Project Manager for the Eryri VIP project said:

“We’re proud that the funding National Grid has provided will help Talsarnau Community make improvements that will that will reduce wastage. It’s great to see this funding go towards enhancing a valued community space for local people in Talsarnau and surrounding areas.”
