Two new western New York substations will improve system reliability and increase electricity capacity.

ALBANY, N.Y. - In preparation for possible high winds and heavy rain from Tropical Storm Isaias, National Grid has shifted resources from western New York to add to its full complement of regional crews to respond to damage caused by forecasted severe weather Tuesday night into Wednesday across the eastern portion of the state.

National Grid is proposing up to $50 million in COVID-19 relief to support the company’s most economically vulnerable residential customers as well as businesses that are struggling because of the financial impact of the pandemic.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - National Grid crews are in the process of locating and repairing damaged underground cables that are causing approximately 8,000 customers to be without electricity service in North Buffalo, most of whom are located along Hertel Avenue, east of Elmwood Avenue in the city.
