Earthmovers turned over the first piles of dirt on the Tug Hill plateau in early November, marking the beginning of construction on one of the most important clean energy projects in New York state.

OSWEGO, N.Y. — Creative Developments of Oswego Inc. was awarded $50,000 in economic development grants by National Grid to support its work on the Oswego Community Development plan.

National Grid crews have worked around the clock to restore power to 96,000, or 96 percent, of the nearly 100,000 upstate New York customers impacted by the severe weather on Friday and Saturday that caused widespread damage across northern and eastern New York.

National Grid’s upstate New York field force of more than 3,200 workers has restored service to more than 80,000 of the 91,500 customers impacted by the destructive winter storm that affected Eastern and Northern New York on Friday.

Hundreds of National Grid workers remain active in challenging winter weather conditions as they evaluate and repair damage and restore service after a severe winter storm brought heavy, wet snow to areas of eastern and Northern New York overnight.

National Grid has stepped up to the plate to support a unique project at the Westland Hills Baseball and Softball League in Albany, creating the “Our Angels Remembered” Holiday Tree Lighting program with a donation that covered the cost of purchasing 100 Christmas trees.
