March 27, 2023 – New York, NY – Community Offshore Wind, a joint venture between RWE and National Grid, has come to an agreement with four unique steel fabricators and manufacturers to establish a statewide steel consortium in New York.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - National Grid, through its robust suite of economic development programs, is providing more than $1.9 million to support eight projects, including Thermo Fisher’s Grand Island expansion, Westminster Economic Development Initiative’s move to a new location, Sonwil Distribution Co’s. multi-million-dollar warehouse, Pine Pharmaceutical Inc.’s Tonawanda expansion, plus restorations of buildings in Lackawanna and Buffalo.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – National Grid’s Western New York crews are continuing to work around the clock and have restored service to 36,600, or 94%, of the 39,000 customers impacted by the weekend’s damaging windstorm that brought gusts of more than 70 mph in some areas.

National Grid wants to make sure that the energy transition provides affordable, safe and reliable energy for the customers, communities and businesses we serve.

National Grid’s eastern New York field force has grown to more than 3,300 line, service, tree, damage assessment and public safety workers who continue around-the-clock power restoration as the destructive three-day nor’easter moves out of the region today. As of 11 a.m.

National Grid’s field force of more than 3,000 workers is responding to power outages in eastern and central New York in dangerous weather conditions as an ongoing, powerful nor’easter continues to bring heavy, wet snow and high winds to the region.

BROOKLYN/HICKSVILLE, NY – National Grid’s storm readiness team has been monitoring the weather forecast and preparing to ensure reliability of the energy delivery system as a Nor’easter is expected to bring a wintry mix with heavy wind and rain to the New York region starting tonight.
