National Grid scores big with first responders' families
At National Grid, we have a commitment to keep our customers and communities safe. And we appreciate the dedication and responsibility that our first responders willingly accept every day to do the same across Western New York.
That’s why before the football season, through our partnership with the Buffalo Bills and our Safety First campaign, National Grid committed to donating to 100 Club of Buffalo $50 per tackle - up to $10,000 - made by Bills safeties who achieved that goal.
The Bills leading tackler in 2023 among safeties was Jordan Poyer with 101 combined tackles, according to NFL.com.
A portion of the $10,000 donation to 100 Club of Buffalo, which supports first responders and their families, will be used to support families who lost a loved one in the line of duty.
The remainder will fund scholarships for children of first responders and provide training for local police and fire departments.
For a March 6 photo shoot, the Highmark Stadium ribbon board included the National Grid logo and Safety First message.
