National Grid Partners with Girl Boss Summer Camp to Inspire Young Entrepreneurs

Brooklyn, NY - National Grid volunteers joined Girls Inc. of NYC for the official start of the Girl Boss Summer Camp, held at K527 Urban Assembly Institute of Math and Science for Young Women in Brooklyn, NY. This annual event provides middle schoolers with the unique opportunity to become entrepreneurs, C-suite leaders, data scientists, and innovators. Under the mentorship of corporate volunteers, summer camp students develop real product prototypes and receive valuable feedback on business plans, prototype development, and investor pitches.

National Grid employees contributed their expertise in environmental sustainability, helping the young entrepreneurs to integrate eco-friendly practices into their designs and business ideas. Additionally, as a real-world example of good business practice, employees shared with the students the company's Responsible Business Charter which outlines sustainability goals to enable the clean energy transition.
