Earth Day volunteers Cleaning Yard

Making a Difference on Earth Day in Upstate New York

The week of April 22, National Grid celebrated Earth Day by supporting community events across Upstate New York. Employees from Buffalo to Albany rolled up their sleeves to volunteer at lakes, ponds and parks where they worked together to clean trails, plant trees, move mulch and more.

Central New York: Dozens of National Grid employees joined the Onondaga County Parks Department to plant trees in Onondaga Lake Park. The trees will contribute to the natural beauty of the lakeside park, and provide wind and noise barriers between the park’s archery range and a nearby road. In addition Central New York employees participated in cleanups at Syracuse’s Webster Pond, Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville and the Utica Zoo.

Employees also pitched in to plant trees and repair flower beds throughout Buffalo.
