Late May bank holiday working hours at Llandecwyn project site

Our project team will be continuing to carry out essential work at our Llandecwyn project site over the late May bank holiday weekend.

Over the long weekend, our team will be working on site during the following times:

  • 7:00am – 6:00pm on Saturday 23 May
  • 7:00am – 6:00pm on Sunday 24 May
  • 7:00am – 7:00pm on Monday 25 May

This activity is taking place with permission from the relevant authorities, including Cyngor Gwynedd and Eryri National Park Authority. We will be monitoring noise levels to ensure we minimise any disturbance caused to our neighbours.

This work is to allow us to safely remove a hoist from the shaft at Llandecwyn. Carrying out this work over a bank holiday will help to minimise risk to site staff and other site activities as only the team members directly involved in the lifting operations need to be present. This will greatly improve the safety of the operation, which involves large and unwieldly lifting equipment.

We will commence the hoist removal on Saturday 23 May and complete the work on Sunday 24 May. If we experience any disruption due to weather or other factors, we may need to finish the removal on Monday 25 May. Once the hoist equipment has been removed, we will resume our normal shaft construction activities.

The lifting operations should not create any additional noise on site, and we will not be exceeding daytime noise thresholds.

We sincerely apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disturbance that may be caused by this additional work, and we appreciate the local community’s patience and cooperation as we undertake this stage of the Eryri VIP project.

If you have any questions about any matter relating to the project, please contact our Community Relations Team on 0800 019 1898 between 9:00am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. If we are unable to answer your call, please leave a message and one of our team will call you back.
