Biography of Ross Turrini

As US Chief Gas Engineer, Ross is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the US gas system. He has accountability for gas asset management, gas engineering, liquified natural gas (LNG) operations, gas control centres, gas pipeline safety management, Trans Gas LNG Trucking and Portable Pipeline Operations. He’s the steward of gas safety and our US gas assets.

As Group Chief Engineer Gas for National Grid, Ross has responsibility globally for engineering assurance for all of National Grid’s gas businesses and operations.

Ross has over 34 years’ experience in engineering, asset management, construction, project management, gas utility operations, supply chain and procurement. He’s a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a BS in civil engineering. Additionally, Ross was awarded a master’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma City University. 

Ross started his career as a Combat Engineer Officer for the United States Army Corp of Engineers. He then worked for Brown and Root Services Corporation on major petrochemical and government construction projects.

Ross started his National Grid career 27 years ago as a Gas Operations and Construction Field Supervisor. During his time here, he’s held positions of increasing responsibility, including Director Gas Construction, Director Gas Investment Planning and Resource Management, Vice President of US Procurement, Vice President of Gas Engineering, and Acting Senior Vice President of US Network Strategies (Electric and Gas).

Ross lives in Merrick NY with his wife, daughter and son.
