Drax to Fenwick

Overview

We are carrying out maintenance work on the steel towers (often known as pylons) along the overhead line between Drax Substation and Fenwick to help keep the electricity transmission network safe and reliable.
 

The need for the works

A number of steel bars on the towers are degraded and need to be replaced to ensure structural safety.
 

Future works

We expect to return next year to carry out re-stringing works on the overhead line. We will share further information closer to the start of these works.

The map below shows the section of the overhead line where the maintenance works will take place.
