National Grid’s Eryri VIP team and its main contractor Hochtief UK have continued their support for the Llandecwyn 10k race, sponsoring the event for the fourth year in a row.
Known as a challenging 10k route, the race, held this year on 24 June, saw 50 competitors running from Llandecwyn through a wooded area to Llyn Tecwyn Uchaf, passing close to the Eryri VIP project site’s eastern compound.
Steve Ellison, Senior Project Manager on Eryri VIP, who completed the race said: “As a keen runner, it has been great to support the Llandecwyn race for four years in a row. The Eryri VIP project is very grateful for the longstanding support and understanding of the local community as we progress with our project which aims to reduce the visual impact of National Grid’s overhead line within the Eryri National Park. As our work in Eryri continues, we look forward to getting involved in future local events and investing in the community where we can.”
