National Grid has also entered into a joint venture agreement with Washington State Investment Board (‘WSIB’). National Grid contributed approximately $125 million for a 51% controlling share in the joint venture which acquired 379 megawatts of solar and wind generation projects from Geronimo Renewable Infrastructure Partners.

Nemo Link, a joint venture between National Grid and Belgian transmission system operator Elia, is open for business.
The UK’s first subsea electricity interconnector to Belgium began offering day-ahead capacity to power traders on Wednesday 30 January and went live at midnight Belgian time on Thursday 31 January.
So far, more than 75% of capacity has been reserved by power traders, who need to buy capacity to move power back and forth between Belgium and the UK.
