Hinkley Connection education fund

Every state-funded primary and secondary school in local authority areas affected by the Hinkley Connection are invited to apply for either a £500 or £1,200 grant each year of the project.

Grants are awarded for the purchase of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) resources to support the teaching of these core subjects.

In the first two years we have supported over 200,000 young people have benefited, including over 40,000 children with special education needs or from challenging backgrounds.

Badar Khan, currently Group Director Corporate Development and National Grid Ventures and a member of the Group Executive Committee, will take over immediately as interim President of the US business, pending the appointment of a permanent successor to Dean. Badar, who has been at National Grid since April 2017, will not join the Board in this interim role, but will continue in his role as a member of the Group Executive Committee.

The market is invited to place legally binding bids for the capacity by 10 March 2020, and Grain LNG is expecting to allocate capacity by the end of March 2020.

The open season offers market participants a brand-new capacity opportunity, following the expiry of the long-term contracts that underpinned the original construction and development of the Grain LNG terminal.

Specifically, I want to detail how we’re disrupting the operations and culture at National Grid – and how we plan to do the same for the broader energy and utility markets.
