Electricity network modifications at Avonmouth
Making significant changes to WPD's local electricity network
We are working with Western Power Distribution (WPD) to make significant changes to its local electricity network, by removing 67 kilometres of the existing overhead line and pylons.
In September 2020, we completed work to modify WPD’s substation at Avonmouth and to replace a section of overhead line to the north of substation with new underground cables. This helped us achieve an important milestone and saw seven WPD pylons removed from Avonmouth and across the M49.
