National Grid Wraps Up Successful Season of Giving on Long Island Through Project C Initiative

MELVILLE, NY – National Grid employees across Long Island concluded a highly impactful Season of Giving as part of the company’s annual Project C initiative. By partnering with local community organizations, they provided toys, coats, meals, and other essential donations to support neighbors in need. Project C is a corporate responsibility initiative that embodies National Grid’s commitment to the communities it serves.

Building Stronger Communities One Act of Kindness at a Time

The Season of Giving made a significant impact across Long Island through:

• Toys: Donations to organizations such as New Hour for Women and Children, Catholic Health, Tri-CYA, and the John Theissen Children Foundation.
• Meals: Food drives supporting Island Harvest, Feeding NY and the Long Beach Latino Civic Association.
• Coats and Essentials: Distribution to Veterans with General Needs, foster children, and families through United Way of Long Island and other partners.

Key Volunteer Events

National Grid employees organized and participated in numerous community-focused activities, including:

• Feeding NY: Collaborating with high school students from St. John the Baptist to prepare and package 2,500 Thanksgiving meal boxes for local food banks. This was the first Feeding NY event hosted by National Grid on Long Island. (Featured on News 12) and on the Catholic Faith Network. 
• Island Harvest Turkey and Trimmings Food Drive: Employees donated and distributed 300 Thanksgiving meals in partnership with Island Harvest Food Bank at Bethpage Credit Union’s annual food drive. (Covered by News 12)
• LB Latino Civic Association Partnership: Thanksgiving meals were distributed to families in the Long Beach community. (Covered by the LI Herald)
• John Theissen Children’s Foundation Toy Drive: National Grid employees contributed toys to the Foundation’s 33rd Annual Toy Drive, benefiting children battling illness at home and in hospitals. National Grid partners with the New York Islanders’ Northwell Health Center in Eisenhower Park in partnership with the Girls Elite Hockey Team. To support the John Theissen toy drive. • Nassau County Veterans Stand Down Event: Employees partnered with General Needs to sort and distribute clothing and household items to veterans at the Freeport Armory.
• Compassion Champions  Coat Drive – Coats and a monetary donation were provided to two shelters in Nassau County. Approximately 96 children benefited from these items, which were distributed through Compassion Champions, a youth-led organization dedicated to empowering young people to serve and lead while creating a meaningful impact in underserved communities.
• United Veteran Beacon House: Volunteers restocked the Linen Closet with essential items for veterans residing in group homes, helping to alleviate their living expenses.
• Catholic Health  Toy Drive: Toys collected by employees brought joy to pediatric patients at Good Samaritan Hospital and other centers, offering comfort to families during the holidays. (Featured on Good Samaritan Hospital's Facebook and Instagram pages.)
• Great South Bay YMCA Support: Donations were made to refurbish the teen room, ensuring a welcoming space for youth to gather after school and during teen night programs.
