Carl Trowell
President of Global Capital
Carl leads an enterprise-wide global capital organisation, bringing together major UK capital delivery, including the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects, major non-regulated capital projects in the US, Global Procurement and Group Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
He is focused on building a world-class delivery system that enables National Grid to deliver major infrastructure safely, efficiently and at pace, underpinned by strong planning, engineering, assurance, supply chain capability and execution discipline.
Carl is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and holds a degree from Imperial College London, a PhD from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from the Open University.
Carl has more than 30 years’ experience across the energy sector, spanning services, engineering, project management and major infrastructure delivery. He has led complex technical organisations and brings deep executive, CEO and board-level experience across international markets. Carl has a strong interest in applying new technologies and engineering techniques to improve performance and outcomes on major programmes.
