Emma Hardaker-Jones

Chief People Officer

Emma is responsible for the People agenda at National Grid, working with the Group Executive to deliver business strategy. Her role focuses on ensuring the organisation has the right people, skills and culture in place to support performance across the business.

Prior to joining National Grid in February 2026, Emma was Chief People and Transformation Officer at Legal & General. In this role, she led people and transformation activity within a large, complex organisation, supporting strategic change and aligning organisational capability with business priorities.

Earlier in her career, Emma held senior leadership roles at PA Consulting, including Chief People Officer and Co‑Head of Technology, where she worked at the intersection of people, technology and transformation. She has also held global HR leadership roles at BP, building experience across international organisations.

Emma brings deep experience in organisational change, leadership and culture, with a particular focus on aligning people strategy to business outcomes through a commercial lens.

She is currently completing her Coaching Certificate at INSEAD, further strengthening her focus on leadership development and executive coaching.
