To protect residents, road users and people working on the project, the M5 will be closed between junctions 19 and 21 in both directions overnight for three nights in April and two nights in June, so that scaffolding needed for the works can be erected and then removed when the work is completed. The closures have been planned for midweek and overnight when there is least traffic.

The Road Tanker Loading Facility (RTLF) at Grain LNG has set a new record for the month of March, with 369 loads, surpassing its previous record of 319. According to customer feedback, the increase in liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuelled trucks on the road and the opening of more LNG truck fuelling stations are the main reasons for this achievement.

Context

As a nationally significant infrastructure project, we will seek permission for the wider Bramford to Twinstead Reinforcement (overhead line and underground cables) through an application for development consent. We are due to submit this application to the planning inspectorate shortly.
