Transformers play a vital role in helping to ensure the UK continues to enjoy safe and reliable electricity supplies, and we are connecting a new one at Berkswell Substation to meet extra demand in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

The transformer is expected to leave Goole Docks at 8am on Sunday 6 March and should arrive at Berkswell electricity substation by mid-afternoon.

Formed in September 2008 and based in Clevedon, North Somerset, Lion Brass 4 Youth provides the only opportunity in the county – and further afield for young people aged 21 and under – to improve, perform and have fun making music in a full brass band.

An entirely independent organisation, the band is a project of Lions Clubs 105 SW, which provides support from Lions clubs throughout the South West of England. Additionally, it's a partner of the Music Education Partnership: North Somerset.

The pre-school’s outdoor area had become a hazard for the children. With decking that was slippery when wet, the pre-school had little choice but to close that area off for use for the safety of the pupils.

In a bid to open this area up and encourage outdoor play, the pre-school sought to build a permanent polycarbonate cover. With help from National Grid’s funding, Mark First and Pre-school CE Academy was able to complete phase two of their renovation and rejuvenation project; meaning that they could extend the time when the decked play area could be used.
