Churchill

In July 2020, National Grid successfully completed upgrade works at the existing Churchill substation, along with key modifications to the electricity network east of the site.

This forms part of the wider Hinkley Connection Project a significant investment in the region’s electricity network. The project aims to connect new sources of low-carbon energy to homes and businesses, including the new Hinkley Point C power station in Somerset.

The work at Churchill is now complete, marking a major milestone in the delivery of the project. The works undertaken at Church will now play a vital role in strengthening and securing the electricity network across the South West.
