Temporary closure of Conscience Lane

As the North Wessex Downs VIP project moves towards the final stages of construction, we will be temporarily closing a small section of Conscience Lane. 

This is to allow the project team to safely work on surfacing the new entrance for the access track to the western cable sealing end compound (CSEC). 

The closure will be in place from Monday 30 March 2026 to Friday 3 April 2026, but we are hoping that the work will be completed before the Easter bank holiday begins. 

This section of Conscience Lane will only be closed outside peak hours on these days between 9:30am and 3:00pm. 

This map shows the section of the road which is due to be temporarily closed and the temporary diversion route that will be put in place. 

Access to properties on Conscience Lane will be retained at all times while the road is closed, however residents may need to use the signed diversion route.

Please note that no construction traffic for the project will be using Conscience Lane during this time, instead all vehicles will be using our temporary haul road within the construction site.
