Electric Vehicles

We’re aiming to move to a 100% electric fleet by 2030 for our light duty vehicles and pursue the replacement of our medium and heavy-duty vehicles with zero carbon alternatives.

What is a light-duty vehicle?

In the US, all vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 8,500 lbs (3,850 kg) are classed as light duty vehicles.

Dependencies

While we are making progress against our target to move to a 100% electric fleet for our light-duty vehicles, we continue to face challenges with vehicle cost and availability. Achieving this target is dependent on the cost, availability, and performance of vehicles with the required characteristics to meet operational needs, which makes achievement of this target increasingly challenging.

Moving forward, we will consider strategies to reduce emissions from transport that are informed by vehicle availability, use cases and conditions in the regions where we operate, and cost effectiveness. We will keep this target under review.
