WALTHAM, MA – National Grid is preparing for Tropical Storm Nicole to sweep through Massachusetts Friday evening through Saturday, bringing heavy rains and strong winds into the region.

BROOKLYN/HICKSVILLE, NY – National Grid’s storm readiness team has been monitoring the weather forecast and preparing to ensure reliability of the energy delivery system as the remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole may produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds in the New York City and Long Island areas Friday afternoon into Saturday.

National Grid has increased staffing and is pre-positioning crews in anticipation of heavy rains and winds forecasted to impact portions of eastern New York on Friday.
