National Grid is joining the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) and Utilities United Against Scams (UUAS) this week in support of International Fraud Awareness Week and will recognize the eighth annual Utility Scam Awareness Day on Wednesday, November 15.

Each organization, through a competitive application process, selected four small businesses to receive grant funding.

Staten Island, NY – National Grid has awarded $500,000 in economic development grants to Integration Charter Schools and New World Preparatory Charter School on Staten Island to support construction and renovation projects, including science labs, green spaces, and new technology.

National Grid customers across the company’s service area will set their clocks, watches, and devices back one hour this weekend to coincide with the end of daylight saving time, which occurs at 2 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 5. The occasion is also an opportunity to change batteries in carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms, and review some simple home safety tips.
