Targeted Consultation

We are consulting on a number of localised changes to our LionLink proposals ahead of finalising our application for development consent. These proposed changes have been developed following feedback received during our statutory consultation and through ongoing environmental assessment and technical work.

Our targeted consultation will run from Tuesday 7 July to Wednesday 5 August 2026 and focuses only on these changes. It does not revisit the wider LionLink proposals consulted on previously.

The proposed changes are:

  • An alternative landfall site location in Walberswick
  • Options for works to Benhall Railway Bridge and its inclusion into the project boundary (Draft Order Limits)
  • Widening the project boundary (Draft Order Limits) at Lymballs Lane
  • A small number of refinements to the project boundary (Draft Order Limits) at access points from local roads and our construction areas

Details of all changes are available in the Targeted Consultation Brochure and supporting documents available in the Document Library.

Although consultation activity is targeted at those most directly affected and relevant organisations, anyone can provide feedback.

Wider updates

We are also confirming a small number of additional changes to our proposals since statutory consultation. These changes are separate from the scope of our targeted consultation, as they concern the selection of preferred options that were already included in our statutory consultation, or the removal of elements from the project scope. They are set out here for information only and do not form part of the proposals we are seeking feedback on through this consultation.

These updates are:

  • Selecting the western route option for part of the underground High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cable route between Saxmundham Road and Middleton Moor.
  • Reducing our project wide construction hours to 7am – 1pm on Saturdays, with no routine working on Sundays and bank holidays.
  • Removing the proposed full build of Kiln Lane Substation from our proposals. The substation is instead currently being delivered by ScottishPower Renewables for its EA1N and EA2 offshore wind projects. LionLink will now only be seeking consent for an extension to the substation to facilitate its connection.

For more information on these wider updates, please view our FAQs here.
