New Consents Career Pathway launch
The Consenting Career Framework and Proficiency Guide for consents colleagues in Strategic Infrastructure (SI) has now been officially launched.
Co-created by a number of colleagues from across the consents team, the new career pathway has been created for two clear reasons:
- to improve skills, knowledge, and capability in obtaining consent
- to provide consents team members with a clear path to career progression.
Delivering The Great Grid Upgrade
We need consenting expertise to ensure that our projects are granted the 'right to build' and are developed to the highest standards.
Alex Kaufman, Director of Land Planning and External Affairs, explains that the pathway provides a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our internal development of consents expertise and a creates a clear pathway to strengthen capabilities as we scale up to deliver The Great Grid Upgrade. Alex adds that the pathway is open to all team members within the Land, Planning and External Affairs team across our portfolio.
Whether you're at the beginning of your career or you're very senior within the organisation, there is something for everybody, so that we can all continue to develop and learn and show up with new skills.
Professional growth
Charlotte Mitchell, Chief Planning Officer said:
I'm thrilled that we now have a pathway that will help our team to build and develop their careers in the way that they want. Professional development has been and continues to be really a hugely important and enjoyable part of my career.
Charlotte shares her own career journey and how investing time in continuous learning and development has led her to where she is today.
I'd really encourage you to take some time now to think about where you are in your career and where you want to go, because I know that National Grid can be the organisation that helps you get there, and I think this toolkit will support you.
