WALTHAM, MA – National Grid crews have restored power to more than 33,000 customers since fast-moving thunderstorms thrashed sections of Massachusetts Friday with 60 mph winds, hail, and torrential downpours.

WALTHAM, MA - National Grid is responding to a fast-moving storm that brought heavy thunderstorms and intense winds, which have caused power outages across central and northern Massachusetts.

ALBANY, N.Y. – National Grid’s eastern New York crews have restored service to more than 29,500 of the 42,800 customers impacted by severe thunderstorms Thursday evening and Friday morning.

National Grid’s Project C community commitment initiative kicks off its third year by expanding the company’s annual day of service to a week of service with more than 2,000 company employee volunteers engaging in 200 events taking place in neighborhoods across New York.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk (CCE Suffolk) held the unveiling of a new, interactive walkway at its 272-acre Suffolk County Farm and Educational Center in Yaphank as well as the announcement of a new visitor center.

WALTHAM, MA – National Grid submitted its Electric Sector Modernization Plan (ESMP), the Future Grid Plan, to the Grid Modernization Advisory Council (GMAC) today outlining the critical investments needed in the local electric distribution system over the next five years and beyond to meet the Commonwealth’s nation-leading climate change, clean energy, and equity goals as established in the 2050 Clean Energy and Climate Plan (CECP).

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – National Grid joined NYC First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright, alongside Assemblywoman Latrice Walker, Brooklyn Deputy Borough President Kim Council, NYC Department of Youth and Community Development Commissioner Keith Howard, Medgar Evers College President Dr. Patricia Ramsey, members of the African American Clergy and Elected Officials (AACEO), and other leaders and members of the Brownsville community to celebrate the ribbon cutting of a new computer lab located in the Van Dyke Community Center.

The Suffolk County Veterans Services Agency in partnership with the Long Island Veteran Suicide Prevention Coalition hosted the 5th annual Veterans Resource and Stand Down Event.
