Important information about extended weekday working hours
Our main contractor Balfour Beatty is continuing to make good progress installing the new underground cables and constructing the new cable sealing end compounds, or CSECs for short, at each end of the project route.
These are required to connect the new underground cables to the remaining existing overhead line and are located next to Rickpiece Plantation at the western end of the line, and in the fields adjacent to the Bridge Inn on Horton Road at the eastern end.
Balfour Beatty has received permission from Wiltshire Council to extend its working hours for the construction work on the CSECs to 8.00am to 9.00pm on Mondays to Fridays.
This activity is taking place with permission from Wiltshire Council, and we will be monitoring noise levels to ensure we keep within the limits that have been agreed as part of our planning application.
Please note that work will also be continuing to take place at weekends on an ad hoc basis between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the local community as we undertake this work on the North Wessex Downs VIP project and we apologise in advance to our neighbours for any temporary inconvenience or disturbance caused.
If you have any questions about this work or any matter relating to the project, please do not hesitate to contact the North Wessex Downs VIP project team.
You can do this by emailing us at [email protected] or calling 0330 134 0051 between 9.00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. If we are unable to answer your call, please leave a message and one of our team will call you back.
