Chief Sustainability Officer

 

Career: As our Chief Sustainability Officer, Claire oversees sustainability initiatives across National Grid. She holds over 25 years of experience in sustainability leadership, encompassing energy, facilities, capital, renewables and NGO partnerships.

Before joining National Grid in March 2026, she was Vice President – Sustainability at GSK, where she led the transformation of the company’s global sustainability strategy across 500 sites in more than 70 countries and managed 30,000 suppliers. 

Skills and Competencies: Claire has extensive expertise in sustainability strategy and specifically net zero, nature-positive initiatives, resilient supply chains, large-scale community engagement and non-financial reporting. 

Claire has a Masters in Energy and Environmental Technology and Economics from City University and has previously worked across the energy industry and procurement functions.

She has been recognised in Reuters Trailblazing Women in Climate (2024) list and named among Sustainability Leadership Magazine’s Top 100 CSOs (2023).
