Traffic management measures on A131 between 16 and 19 December 2025
Since our development consent order for the Bramford to Twinstead Reinforcement was granted, we have been carrying out preparatory works ahead of main construction along the project route. As part of this, we need to carry out a topographic survey near Little Maplestead on part of the A131 Sudbury Road where we are planning to build a new bellmouth (road junction). The what3words location is runner.feasted.dizziness.
To ensure the safety of our workforce and the public while this work is carried out, temporary two-way traffic lights will be in effect on weekdays from 16 to 19 December 2025 between the hours of 08:00 to 17:30. The work will be carried out by Balfour Beatty, on behalf of National Grid.
The temporary lights will only be in operation during working hours and will be removed from the carriageway overnight. No works will take place at weekends. To minimise disruption, the signals will be manually controlled at all times to manage the flow of traffic. Advance warning signs will be displayed, and the work area will be clearly marked with cones and barriers.
We understand that our work may cause some disruption to your journey, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Our teams will work to complete these activities as efficiently and safely as possible. If there are any changes to our timetable, this webpage will be updated.
