BritNed team day of volunteering at the Halo Centre
The BritNed team dedicated a day to volunteering at the Halo Centre, an organisation committed to eradicating food poverty in Warwickshire and Leicestershire and providing support during food and medical crises abroad.
The day began with the team making generous food donations, which will be used in local food banks and pantries. The team collectively donated an impressive 107.5 kg of food, making a significant impact in supporting those in need.
Next, they focused on packing nutritious meals for children in Zimbabwe. These meals, consisting of vitamins, lentils, rice, and soy, will be directly distributed to schools. Working efficiently, we successfully packed 2592 meals that will greatly benefit the children.
In addition to their international efforts, the team also sorted through food donations that will be distributed locally within the UK. As a team, they worked diligently to organise as much food as possible.
The team said it was a fulfilling way to conclude the day, knowing that their collective efforts will aid those most affected in our communities.
