The publication came out on top in the ‘best writing’ and ‘publication for stakeholders’ categories at the Institute of Internal Communications Gala Awards ceremony in London.
Regarding the best writing prize, the judges said: “The overall feel is that it is a publication for a community and speaks well to that community.”
In the publication for stakeholders category, they commented on the diverse nature of the magazine’s audience, who they recognised as “vital to the work of National Grid”, adding: “Producing something that appeals to that diversity and remains accessible through the writing is a great result.”
Gridline is a quarterly magazine that we produce for an audience of around 30,000 people nationwide.

The readers, called grantors, are landowners who have our transmission gas and electricity pipes and pylons on their land.

With a need to raise awareness of the risks involved in digging or working near electricity and gas equipment, the magazine also shares essential information and safety messages.
Most importantly, Gridline works to strengthen our connection with our grantors. This ensures that important projects and schemes can be carried out smoothly and efficiently for the benefit of energy consumers.
