The Yorkshire GREEN Project is a proposal by National Grid Electricity Transmission to upgrade and carry out major reinforcement of the electricity transmission system in Yorkshire.
The Yorkshire GREEN Project would provide the infrastructure needed to improve the transfer of sustainable power to support the Government’s commitment to quadruple the UK’s offshore wind capacity by 2030, tying into the clean growth forecast for Scotland and the North East of England. It would provide the capability to manage significantly increased power flows in Great Britain and growing energy demand, which the Climate Change Committee predicts will double by 2050.
We are asking a series of questions on different aspects of our proposals. You are welcome to answer all or only some of the questions in this response form, depending on the issues that are most important to you.
