Rob Miatt is Corporate Affairs business partner on the NGET executive. He brings 25 years of experience across several industrial sectors to this key position in communication and stakeholder engagement.
He describes his role as providing “insight and guidance on UK and EU communications, political, media and influencing issues and driving best practice in internal and external stakeholder engagement and brand management.”
At a time of significant change within the energy industry, Rob is responsible for supporting major business issues and initiatives across the UK with business-specific internal and external communication strategies and tactical delivery plans designed to build, protect and sustain the operating environment that the regulated ET business needs.
He also advises fellow executive team members, up to and including chief executive officer and chair, on communication, stakeholder engagement, marketing and reputational matters, and leads board-level activity in those areas.
His remit includes National Grid’s Capital Delivery business.
Rob joined National Grid in 2015. Before that, he worked in various industrial sectors including financial services, defence, engineering and construction, for FTSE 100 and 250 companies with staff located around the world. Throughout his career, he has developed expertise across the spectrum of communication functions, from employee engagement, corporate social responsibility, digital and social media to public relations, event management and marketing.
Rob is married with two children and enjoys being active in his local community. He graduated from the University of Leicester with a BSc (Hons) in Economics, Business Administration and Earth Sciences, and holds a post-graduate diploma in Management Studies.
