Kerri Matthews is the Head of Strategy and Performance on the NGET executive committee. She leads a team that is developing ET’s long-term strategy and supporting the evolution of ET into a customer-focused, commercial, efficient and successful business by providing business insights and driving performance.
“The ET business is now operating in a rapidly evolving competitive world,” said Kerri. “Our customers and stakeholders want us to deliver an affordable network that is reliable and resilient, and play a role in decarbonising the UK economy. ET can make a real, meaningful difference, leading the way to a safe and sustainable future.”
In her previous role as Director of National Grid Smart, she set up a new smart metering business from concept to fully operational – a first for NG – in under 18 months, challenging standard ways of working to grow “a commercial and agile culture essential for success”. Her responsibilities covered business development, customer operations, supply chain management, safety and asset assurance and business change.
Before Smart, she spent three years as Performance Manager preparing the Gas Distribution business for the new RIIO regulatory environment. Before that, she held the position of Executive Advisor, for the Gas Distribution Executive Director, with responsibilities across the UK and US.
Earlier in her career, she held both commercial and regulatory roles within the LNG Storage business, in the former BG Group, which latterly became the Grain LNG Importation Terminal.
Kerri served for three years from 2015 as a Patron of Solihull Chamber of Commerce and Director of Solihull Business Improvement District (BID), a business-led partnership created, through a ballot process, to deliver additional services to local businesses.
She holds a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Business Management. She is a Change Management Registered Practitioner and a Green Belt in Facilitative Leadership and Creative Problem-Solving.
