Interim Chief People and Culture Officer


Career: Claire was appointed Interim Chief People and Culture Officer in December 2021. She is responsible for setting and delivering the People and Culture agenda in line with the commercial strategy of the Group.

Claire has held a number of senior positions within National Grid’s People and Culture Function, including most recently as Chief People Officer for the Corporate Functions and as Head of HR Effectiveness and Organisation Development. In November 2020, Claire was recognised as a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.

Prior to joining National Grid, Claire spent 11 years with BG Group, operating internationally. Claire has also operated as a Pensions Trustee to both the Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension schemes.

Skills and competencies: Claire brings a wealth of experience and has directed on a series of transformational change programmes across the UK and US, delivering time-critical organisational design. She has been instrumental in leading people activities associated with M&A and divestments, and in developing and aligning global people strategies that have brought clarity across the spectrum of disciplines including talent, resourcing, performance and culture.
