When we’re working on the highways, our contractors need to manage the traffic to keep everyone safe. This will involve using temporary ‘stop/go’ boards, traffic lights and some short-term road closures.
Our contractors put up advance notice signs to let local road users know of any traffic restrictions and road closures.
We have agreed the following timings with the local highway authority.
| Location | Duration | Description of works | Traffic management in place | Map view |
| Whitehouse Lane, Wraxall | 14 September - 9 October 2026 | We are undertaking reinstatement work to repair an existing stone wall along Whitehouse Lane. This will involve carefully taking down the damaged wall and rebuilding it. | Two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. The lights will be removed outside of these hours. A Traffic Management Operative (TMO) will also be on site during working hours, Monday to Friday, to monitor and manage traffic flow. Timings may change due to adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances. Keep checking this page for updates. | View map |
| Haul road between Cadbury Camp Lane and Clevedon Road | May 2026 – May 2027 | Haul road reinstatement works, including fencing, stone wall reinstatement and ground restoration, following construction activities for the Hinkley Connection Project. | Limited construction vehicle movements will be taking place within the haul road between 7am and 5pm. Residents close to the works may notice temporary increases in construction noise and dust. Dust suppression measures and reduced on-site speed limits will be in place throughout the works to minimise impacts. | View map |
