• Build an extension of the existing substation onto an adjacent field. The extended substation will include similar equipment to the current substation and will look like a smaller version of the existing site. The site extension and substation build will allow for the future decommissioning and removal of parts of the existing substation infrastructure that can be seen on the current site today.
• Reconfigure the short sections of the overhead lines into the extended substation.
• Add new conductors (the wires between the pylons) onto 8km of existing pylons between Harker Substation and the Scottish Border.
