We’re continuing work to connect Hinkley Point C power station to the existing National Grid network, which when complete, will connect six million homes and businesses to homegrown, low carbon energy.
In January 2023, we started work to upgrade existing 275,000 volt pylons to connect the new T-pylons near Bridgwater to the new Hinkley Point C power station. This is the final construction phase of the project to start with construction due to be complete at the end of 2024.
The work to modify and connect the existing electricity network near Stogursey to Shurton substation is complete. However, our continuing works to upgrade the network will require temporary traffic management as we erect and dismantle scaffolding. We let local road users know of any roadworks and traffic management in the area on our website.
