Asset reunification

National Grid plc has launched a tracing programme in partnership with ProSearch with the aim of reuniting 'lost' shareholders or their estates with unclaimed cash entitlements in respect of payments made by National Grid plc.

We are aware that shareholders can lose touch with us due to a number of reasons. Some shareholders do not notify our Registrar when they move home or circumstances change so details held on the share register may be out of date. Shareholders may also simply forget about or be uncertain about their shareholdings.

We want to re-unite as many shareholders as possible with their unclaimed assets. We have recently instructed ProSearch, a specialist tracing company, to help us trace shareholders with unclaimed assets.

If you have received a claim form from ProSearch and have any questions or concerns, please contact them on 0800 612 3661 (in the UK) or +44 121 415 0056 (from overseas). The lines are open from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays in England and Wales.

Alternatively, if you would like to clarify whether you or a deceased person for whose estate you act holds shares in National Grid plc, please contact our Registrar, Equiniti Limited ('Equiniti') for further assistance.

Who are ProSearch?

ProSearch is a subsidiary of our Registrar, Equiniti Limited. ProSearch specialises in the research, identification and the reuniting of unclaimed assets. It has a 30 year heritage in the provision of Asset Reunification solutions and has worked with many FTSE 100 and 250 companies on similar projects.

Why is this entitlement due?

Cheque(s) have been issued that may have been returned undelivered and/or remain uncashed. These may be in respect of dividends paid by National Grid plc and may also include payments issued pursuant to corporate actions such as special dividends.

National Grid plc has instructed ProSearch to try to find and assist shareholders or their legal representatives with the repatriation of unclaimed amounts to which they may be entitled.

What should you do if you have received a claim form?

ProSearch will only send a claim form to an address at which they are reasonably certain that the shareholder, or their legal representative, now resides.

The claim form is designed to make the recovery of entitlements as easy as possible. Please follow the instructions provided and return the signed and dated form (along with any necessary documents) to ProSearch in the pre-paid envelope provided.

Why is there a fee for using this service?

In the process of operating a programme to trace lost shareholders, ProSearch incurs costs including data subject analysis, mailings, identity confirmation, claim validation, and a free helpline. This service is voluntary. This is a search and identification service designed to trace shareholders and return unclaimed entitlements as efficiently as possible. Should you choose to use this service, ProSearch will deduct all fees from the entitlements recovered.
