Margam Substation

We are proposing a new substation in Margam, Neath Port Talbot, to help meet the growing demand for electricity in the area.

We will develop two new substations in Margam to facilitate multiple proposed connections. As the owner and operator of the electricity network in Wales and England, it’s our licence obligation to facilitate new connections to the electricity network so that homes and businesses can benefit from the renewable energy produced.

Our work is at an early stage and we have not yet developed detailed plans for the new substation. During this early-stage field work will be carried out with surveys and assessment of the land. We’ll keep the local community informed once we have a date in place for the start of construction.

Is-orsaf Margam

Rydym yn y broses o gynllunio is-orsaf newydd ym Margam, Castell-nedd Port Talbot, i helpu i ateb y galw cynyddol am drydan yn yr ardal.

Byddwn yn datblygu dwy is-orsaf newydd ym Margam i hwyluso cysylltiadau arfaethedig lluosog. Fel perchennog a gweithredwr y rhwydwaith trydan yng Nghymru a Lloegr, mae’n orfodaeth ein trwydded i hwyluso cysylltiadau newydd i’r rhwydwaith trydan fel y gall cartrefi a busnesau elwa ar yr ynni adnewyddadwy a gynhyrchir.

Megis dechrau y mae ein gwaith ac nid ydym eto wedi datblygu cynlluniau manwl ar gyfer yr is-orsaf newydd. Yn ystod y cyfnod cynnar hwn bydd gwaith maes yn cael ei wneud gydag arolygon ac asesiad o'r tir. Byddwn yn rhoi’r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i’r gymuned leol unwaith y bydd gennym ddyddiad yn ei le ar gyfer dechrau’r gwaith adeiladu.
