Update on installation of traffic management measures in Minffordd - February 2023

Over the past six months we have been contacting local residents who live on and around Quarry Lane in Minffordd about our proposed traffic management plans as part of National Grid’s Eryri VIP project.

We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to respond to our consultation and provide their feedback and comments on the proposals, which have helped us to develop and refine the details for managing construction while we transform the landscape.

Plans have now been finalised and the measures will be installed on 16 February 2023 by our appointed contractor, HOCHTIEF (UK) Construction Ltd, when we will begin establishing one of the project’s main construction compounds on land adjacent to the back road to Minffordd.

The measures will include closing the back road from the junction with the A497 to our construction compound.  This will involve restricting access to only local residents, any visitors or deliveries to their properties and for emergency vehicles, but closing the road for any other through traffic.

Once installed, these measures will be required during construction until December 2026.  After December 2026 there will be a shorter period of work required to remove the pylons once the new underground cable is completed, and as our plans for these works progress, we’ll keep you up to date.

If you have any questions about this or any other matter relating to the project, please contact the Eryri VIP project team by emailing us at [email protected] or calling 0800 019 1898 (and leaving a message if prompted).
