Announcements

On 12 November 2024, Ofgem announced that it has approved the Initial Project Assessment for the LionLink and Nautilus electricity interconnectors.

The Initial Project Assessment (IPA) is a consultation process run by Ofgem to determine an interconnector project’s suitability. With the approval from Ofgem, both projects are confirmed for further development.

Before we can submit our application for development consent, we need to understand who has a legal interest in the land in and around the areas being considered as part of the proposals for LionLink.

Please visit the Landowner tab for the full list of scheduled activity.

Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in our April webinar sessions. We are now reviewing the questions received and the feedback provided.

We will update our online FAQs with our latest responses soon, and the presentation pack used in the sessions will be uploaded to the document library if you would like to view it.

      March 2024

Thank you to the hundreds of residents and community stakeholders who provided feedback during our second non-statutory consultation (September 2023 – November 2023).

We received over 1,300 responses. Every comment received matters to us and has helped to further inform and refine our proposals, including alternative options for onshore infrastructure that had been identified following feedback to our 2022 consultation. Thank you for providing your feedback and registering for future project updates.

To summarise our response to the consultation, we have produced a Supplementary Non-Statutory Consultation Report.

The purpose of the report is to:

      • capture the feedback received from the public on the options presented, including the alternative options

      • provide our response to key themes that emerged in the feedback

      • share our cable route, landfall and converter site chosen locations and how these have been identified by taking account of feedback received.

You can request a hard copy of the report if you would prefer, and any of our previous consultation materials via the contact details at the foot of this page. We value your views and will continue to work with local communities and stakeholders to develop the proposals further.
