REWIRING BRITAIN

How do we move to an environmentally sustainable energy supply whilst maintaining the reliability of our transmission system and security of supply?

It’s a challenge which National Grid, as a world-class electricity and gas business, is determined to conquer – with your help.

As a member of our System Technical Performance Team, you will play a vital role in these challenging times to ensure that the quality of supply performance of the transmission system resulting from network modifications, the connections of non-linear load and emerging renewable generation and HVDC technologies complies with our Security and Quality of Supply Standard, the Grid Code and relevant Engineering Standards and Recommendations. Having addressed aspects of quality of supply and safety related short-circuit current calculations for earthing studies, you’ll then provide support and guidance to other engineers in power system analysis and influence the development of national and international Quality of Supply standards.

As such, it’s essential that you possess a degree in electrical engineering, wide experience of power system quality analysis and an excellent understanding of impact scheme development and design. In conjunction with your Chartered Engineer status or ability to progress to Chartered Engineer status, these qualities will enable you to help us keep this nation energised.

So, if you’d like the opportunity to work for one of the world’s largest utilities within an inclusive environment that values diversity, please apply now.
